Dusza, karman i odpowiedzialność

Abstract

Soul, karman and responsibility I will discuss the ethical responsibility of the soul (ātman) according to the early Hinduism (philosophical chapters of the Mahābhārata, c.a. 4th B.C.E. - 4th C.E.). According to the contemporary assumptions, the soul is a part of the Absolute, identical with it. The soul is embodied in man and depends on his choices and actions. Thus conceived, the embodied soul can either be entangled in the world or can come back to its absolute source which is seen as the realisation of the summum bonum. The first situation is caused by the fact the soul bears responsibility for the actions performed by man. The second situation is caused by liberation from responsibility and its ultimate cancellation. Dusza, karman i odpowiedzialność W wystąpieniu omówię zagadnienie etycznej odpowiedzialności duszy (ātman) we wczesnym hinduizmie (filozoficzne rozdziały Mahabharaty, ok. IV w. p.n.e. - IV w. n.e.). Zgodnie z ówczesnymi założeniami, jednostkowa dusza stanowi cząstkę Absolutu wcieloną w człowieka i poddaną jego wyborom i działaniom. Tak pojmowana dusza może znaleźć się w dwóch sytuacjach. Pierwszą jest jej uwikłanie w świecie spowodowane ponoszeniem odpowiedzialności za czyny podejmowane przez człowieka, drugą - wyzwolenie od odpowie-dzialności i jej całkowite zniesienie, pozwalające na osiągnięcie summum bonum.
