dc.description.abstract This article is devoted to the contrastive phraseological analysis of idioms of biblical origin in the Russian and English languages. Biblical idioms are regarded as precedent phenomena and means of speech influence. In particular, the article focuses on the non-equivalent idioms of biblical origin in Russian and English. The author identifies and compares the substantive differences in the use of non-equivalent idioms of biblical origin. en
