dc.description.abstract	The article focuses on the investigation history of pseudonyms as one of the category, which is singled out among proper names. The multiaspect pseudonym classifi cations in Ukrainian linguistics and the defi nition of their linguistic status have been described. The interpretation of the pseudonym formation mechanism by modern Ukrainian writers have been suggested; the functions of pseudonyms in the Ukrainian language space have been analyzed; the correspondent tendencies have been singled out; the research perspectives have been determined.	en
