Abstract:
The article is devoted to the studies of alternations taking place in the process of the wordbuilding of adjectives in the Modern Ukrainian language. Investigating morphonological phenomena in the functional aspect makes it possible to define the importance of these modifications for definite adjective derivation types. Among all the morphonological phenomena a central place in the system of word-formation of adjectives of Ukrainian language is occupied by duties – modifications of phoneme composition of morphemes that consist in replacement of one phoneme other (including by a phoneme zero) or by connection of phonemes.
