Номінація вершин Бойківщини: семантико-мотиваційний аспект

Abstract

The proposed article deals with the Boikivshchyna’s microtoponyms – of the unique, interesting and specific region. Carpathian landscape is a powerful and important source in the development of ethno- and lingual origin of our people. To the microtoponyms are included names of streams, wetlands, trails, forests, pastures, tops, hills – all that informs primarily about the organization of landscape areas. The main emphasis is on oronims – proper names of landscape elements on the earth's surface. The semantic content of the term "oronim" to this day remains controversial. Microoronims nominate elements of "vertical" space. They are analyzed through the prism of semantic motivational features. Geographical names are merged into three groups: connected with landscape; cultural and historical; possessive microoronims.
