Abstract

This research is devoted to derivational variation of adjectives in the Ukrainian language as special relations between words. There are several approaches to the study of derivational variants in modern linguistics. Even the definition of this term is very polemical point of issue. Derivational variation may be based not only on adding variant word-forming affixes (suffixes predominantly) to the same stem but also on adding the same affix to variant or different stems. These stems must certainly be of the same root. Morphemical variants are usually at the basis of derivational variation.
