Abstract:
The article identifies foreign origin conjunctions in the 16th – 17th c. Ukrainian language texts. It also traces the source language of the borrowings and analyzes the use of conjunctions in the source language and in the artifacts under analysis. Moreover, further functions of the conjunctions are studied. Ukrainian-Polish contacts of the 16th – 17th c. play an important role within the system of inter-Slavonic relations. They were predetermined by territorial proximity, political and economic interests and links in various fields of social and cultural life, as well as due to closely allied nature of the languages.
