The article deals with the manner in which the Bulgarian translation of S. Lem's Powtórka renders the image of a world that is strange and unknown to both the protagonists and to the reader of the text. Statistical analysis demonstrates that the number of Lem's neologisms increases with the level of strangeness of the presented world and that, simultaneously, increases also the number of passages omitted by translator. |
