Abstract:
The ethical values of the Christian soul. Texts about the dying sinner in Catholic hymnbooks from the late Baroque
The observations concern songs about the dying sinner in Catholic hymnbooks from the end of the Baroque period. In these texts there are two points of view on the life : terrestrial and extraterrestrial. The concerned texts, maintained in the Catholic tradition, are the result of the work of religious poets on the Christianization of the entire society of the former Poland. The leitmotif of death was here particularly useful, imposing on the worshipers the obligation to respect the truths of faith throughout their whole lives.
Wartości etyczne chrześcijańskiej duszy. Utwory o umierającym grzeszniku z późnobarokowych kancjonałów katolickich
Zakres obserwacji wyznaczą odnotowane w wybranych katolickich kancjonałach - z końca epoki baroku - pieśni podejmujące tematykę umierającego grzesznika. W utworach są obecne dwie perspektywy spojrzenia na życie: ziemska i pozaziemska. Utrzymane w tradycyjnym katolickim duchu teksty, stanowią efekt pracy poetów religijnych nad chrystianizacją ogółu społeczeństwa dawnej Polski. Szczególnie przydatny był tu element śmierci, nakładający na wyznawców obowiązek przestrzegania prawd wiary przez całe życie.
