Abstract:
Historical toponymy is an important word formation resource of Serbian language. Nowadays it also appears as information testifying about linguistic, historical and cultural past of the Serbian nation. Research of its formational structure and semantics in its process incorporates reconstruction of interliguistic relations in the very name on one hand, and relations which refer the given name directly to a geographical object on the other. A large number of word formation characters which can be found in Serbian historical toponymy also testify about largely developed word formation of Old Church Slavonic language.
