dc.description.abstract The paper is dealing with so-called further diminution, by which the noun deri- vates of sobičica [< sobica (< soba)], sobičak [< sobica (< soba)] type and similar were produced. The Serbian disposes of several types offurther diminution, which have different degrees of productivity. The grammatical and lexicographical literature contains the examples showing that Serbian has only one degree of further diminution (borićak < borić). Nevertheless, in spoken language and in Internet forums, the derivates produced by further diminution of second degree (ribičič- ica < ribič-ica < ribica) are confirmed. The number of suffixes that participate in further diminution is smaller than the number of suffixes that produce the basic diminutives (which are the basis of further diminution). en_US
