Abstract:
The article deals with realization of the category of deminutivity in qualitative words, its relations with other categories of adjectives, in particular with central for it lexical and grammatical category of irrelative measure of quality. The arrangement of semantic variants of this category by means of different word-building devices is shown in the three contrasted languages. The paper stresses the leading role of prefixation in conveying of deficient and exceeding measures of quality in Modern Greek in comparison with Ukrainian and Russian, as well as functional loading of compounding and juxtaposition.
