dc.description.abstract In the speech analysis of the Diaspora language it is necessary to distinguish two groups of native speakers: the representatives of the first and the subsequent generations of the diaspora from all waves of emigration. Whereas for the first generation it is typical to integrate the foreign language vocabulary into the system of the own mother tongue - which can be seen in the language of big cities in the period of important social and political changes -, with the representatives of the second and subsequent generations of the Diaspora much more complex processes in language change can be observed, caused by the influence of the language of the host country and by the superposition of two language systems. The paper attempts to trace the development peculiarities of the diminutive category in the language of the Russian diaspora in non-Slavic countries, taking into account the conditions mentioned above. en_US
