Abstract

The article examines the diminutive units in the structure of dialectal lexical word-forming nests fragments. In the study of the derivational potential of Russian dialectal words and units representing cognitively significant meanings, diverse derivatives of modificational and mutational word-forming types, particularly, the primary and secondary diminutives are of great interest. In the paper, on the material of various groups of related units, not only discrete derivatives but whole groups of words a number of which are produced by one word-forming system and are missing from the other are subjected to the comparative analysis taking into account the opposition “the literary language/dialects”.
