Abstract:
The article discussed disputes in the history of Lusatian languages (upper and lower) from the beginning (i.e. from the end of the 17th century), to the 20th century, when in 1952, Lower Lusatian spelling was reformed, i.e. it was brought closer to Upper Lusatian. Lower Lusatians did not accept it, that is why in 1996 most of the old rules were restored. The second part of the article discusses the most important events in the history of Slavic spelling reforms.
