ЯЗЫК – КОРПУС – СЛОВАРЬ

Abstract

This article provides a brief overview of the Slovak dictionaries, lexical databases and corpora produced at the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, especially in the department of the Slovak National Corpus. The paper deals with the nature and importance of language corpora and their use. It next explains the need for close cooperation between corpora linguistics and (computational) lexicography. At present, the links between natural language processing and lexicography are in Slovakia well developed and mutually beneficial.
