Abstract:
The article discusses Bulgarian optative constructions as: гледа ми се (филм), доспива ми се / доспи ми се, приревава ми се / приреве ми се to see how these constructions are recognized in modern dictionaries. Material from 8 different latest dictionary of modern Bulgarian was compared with data from the Bulgarian National Corpus. It was found that dictionaries include several times less optative constructions than are used in speech. Dictionaries present mainly optative constructions with derivates verb as прияжда ми се while in speech dominated optative constructions with non-derivated verb as пътува ми се.
