ИМЕНАТА НА ПТИЦИТЕ В БЪЛГАРИЯ И ОСОБЕНОСТИТЕ НА ТЕРМИНОЛОГИЧНАТА НОМИНАЦИЯ

Abstract

This article analyses the names of 1240 birds, described in the three-volume edition of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Some birds spend their whole life in Bulgaria, others only live here during the warm part of the year, still others stay here in the cold months. A similar analysis may have two approaches – from form towards content or from content towards form. We use the first approach. The names of birds are made of one word, of two words, three words or four words. Besides that, a grat е number of compound nouns and adjectives are used, which increases the number of distinctive features, underlying the nomination, up to six.
