Abstract:
The article presents a unique lexical feature of the speech of the village Erkech, Pomorie region, which has not been made a property to the scientific community, although the Erkech archaic speech has been a constant object of attention by linguists for over a century. What distinguishes Erkech dialect from both literary language and other Bulgarian dialects, is that the semantic paradigm of the adjective „ugly“ is even richer because it is characterized by the presence of another meaning – „low-quality, hot, certif“ – for tobacco.
