Abstract:
The present article is an attempt to assess the role of the diminutive verbs in the system of Bulgarian diminutives and to trace their representation in the Dictionary of Bulgarian Language. Through an analysis based on the combinative properties and the possibility of paraphrasing, some fundamental semantic features of the diminutive verbs have been formulated. The study also suggests an interpretational model of the denotative and connotative meanings of two groups of diminutive verbs in modern Bulgarian.
