dc.description.abstract The goal of this paper is to give an insight into univerbation in Serbian daily newspapers. The author of the paper narrows down his research just to words derived from a single word of a fixed expression or a phrase (e. g. nedeljne novine > nedeljnik, nuklearna elektrana > nuklearka). The research has shown that the univerbation is not as frequent as the author presumed: as little as 27 derivates have been excerpted from 394 pages of the newspapers. On the other hand, despite their number the derivates have shown all the major traits of the words in question with, to some extent, the exception of their predominantly informal character. en_US
