Yнівербацыя/універбізацыя: сутнасць паняцця і месца ў тэрмінасістэме словаўтварэння

Abstract

The article presents an attempt to characterize the essence of the word-formation concepts of “univerbation / univerbization / univerbalization” and to outline the circle of linguistic phenomena included by modern researchers in the sphere of univerbation / univerbization, as well as to consider the relation of the notion “univerbation / univerbization” with other concepts and units of synchronous word-formation. Also, taking into account the functions of word-formation, the nature of the semantic motivation, the ways and means of word-formation, the semantic and formal grammatical relations between the motivating base and the univerb, in the article the criteria will be formed that allows to include certain categories and groups of motivated units in the class of univerbization. We also propose a hierarchical structure of the field of the univerbization that depends on the actualization of certain criteria in the Slavic word-formation. The main provisions of the article are illustrated with the Belarusian language material.
