Wędrówka dusz w zaświaty – szerokim gościńcem i po bezdrożach (schematy wyobrażeń w kulturze ludowej)

Abstract

Autorka przedstawia schematy konceptualizacji drogi w polskiej kulturze ludowej w aspekcie wędrówki dusz do nieba. Obrazowanie pośmiertnego szlaku podróży opiera się na dwóch archaicznych schematach organizacji przestrzeni mitycznej – porządku wertykalnymi i horyzontalnym. W układzie wertykalnym, dusze podążają do celu prostą drogą w kierunku góra-dół (niebo-piekło). Aspekt binarnego podziału horyzontalnego na świat żywych i umarłych ukazuje pośmiertną wędrówkę w przestrzeni obcej, amorficznej, w której zagubione dusze poruszają się po omacku w poszukiwaniu drogi do celu.

The article is dedicated to various conceptualizations of the route in the context of a souls’ journey towards heaven which have developed in the Polish folk culture. The representations of the route are based on two archaic patterns of mythical space, i.e. vertical and horizontal. In the vertical order the souls are presented as proceeding by a straight passage leading them either upwards to heaven or downwards to hell. In the horizontal order, dependent upon the binary division of the world into the living and the dead, the conduit of the souls is presented as meandering in the alien and amorphous space where they flounder to find the doom.
