Abstract:
Issues connected with representing specific linguistic and cultural information of words and resistant collocations in the new bilingual dictionaries are treated in this paper. This dictionary represents a metaphorical image of a specific ethnos and offers options for an adequate translation. It is a translated dictionary, which describes the Bulgarian national language images in the aspect of the Bulgarian cultural cognitive space. Besides interpretation, the dictionary entries contain a rich illustrative material from the Bulgarian history and folklore. The dictionary represents both a metaphorical and symbolic rethinking of traditions in the language; it includes shaped words, which name various phenomena of the extra linguistic reality. This type of dictionaries with linguistic and cultural information are addressed mainly to foreigners and are good helpers in foreign language training, in translation and in scientific research, in describing the picture of the world.
