Abstract:
A subject of interest is the nature of symbols as unit of language and culture. For set phrases with symbolic meaning is typical naming of an object by set meaning in a given cultural realm. The symbolism of a number of set phrases is based on the symbolism of the internal structure. In other cases the symbolism of the set phrases is national hallmark that people have chosen exactly these images to convey universal meaning. In the report the symbolism of set phrases is mainly considered at anthroponymic set phrases and fixed similes. Somatic symbols and symbols-zoonyms are studied. The ambiguity of some symbols is indicated.
