Abstract:
The article is devoted to the role of dictionaries in language and culture. Modern dictionaries of culture include different fragments of a linguistic picture of the world, give an idea about a linguistic model of the world in general and in the boundaries of the theory the author of the dictionary follows. The idea of lexicographical sources being one of the essential elements which help to understand national-cultural peculiarities of a certain people is considered to be the basic element of the text.
