dc.description.abstract	The article describes problems of Ukrainian language codification in the period of literary standard formation. The main factors of normalization and codification caused by the activities of the Kharkiv Philological School and Kharkiv Historical and Philological Society in the 1920s and 1930s are considered. The article reveals the features of codification practice of Kharkiv linguists in the first decades of the XX century. Particular attention has been given to such areas of linguistics as puristic (Kyiv School) and moderate (Kharkiv school). Some lexicographical works of Kharkiv linguists are analyzed.	en_US
