Abstract:
The important role of dialectal lexis in the modern etymology defines the term dialectal etymology. In the “Bulgarian etymological dictionary” that includes broad layers of dialectal words various specific cases of dialectal etymology are worked out. In this paper the origin of some individual dialectal words is explained considering phonetic, word formation and semantic aspects of the analysis.
