Abstract:
The article demonstrates methods designed to describe “phenomena of translation” which are used in “Dictionary of Russian Language XI – XVII centuries”. “Phenomena of translation” are very specific, but they are characteristic for Old Slavic and Old Russian translations from Greek: the loan words, the partially adapted and unadapted vocabulary, the foreign fragments, the special derivational models, the different kinds of mistakes, and the grammatical features in each translated text. We also discuss special cases (called “translation decisions”), which are different ways of lexicographic interpretation.
