Abstract:
The article presents the second Bulgarian-French dictionary (1912) compiled by Nestor Markov. Observations were made on lexicographical solutions applied in the dictionary. A comparison was made with the first Bulgarian-French dictionary (1898) compiled by Nestor Markov. The study finds that the lexicographical system of second Bulgarian-French dictionary for which insists the publisher leads to deformation of dictionary. Words with the same start are united mechanically in one dictionary entry. Dictionary entries with many examples and phraseology are shortened. Grammatical notes to Bulgarian words and etymological notes are lost. There are no synonyms and antonyms in the second dictionary.
