Anthropos Doctoral School

From the 2019/2020 academic year, the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences begins educating doctoral students at the Anthropos Doctoral School, Polish Academy of Sciences.

The Anthropos School was founded jointly by nine institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences: the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Institute of Literary Research, the Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organisation, the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History, the Ludwik and Aleksander Birkenmajer Institute for the History of Science, the Institute of Polish Language, the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, the Institute of Slavic Studies and the Institute of Art.

The leading unit of the Anthropos Doctoral School is the Institute of History, Polish Academy of sciences, and its office is in Warsaw at 31 Rynek Starego Miasta, room 31 (2nd floor).

The Anthropos Doctoral School offers a comprehensive educational programme which combines preparation for independent and team research work with specialist and interdisciplinary seminars. The most important principles of the School’s programme focus on the comprehensive preparation of doctoral students for independent work in the national and international academic environment, including the development of research skills.

Admission

Recruitment to the Anthropos School of the Polish Academy of Sciences Institutes takes place in September each year in an open competition in two stages. Candidates who successfully pass the assessment of the submitted documentation are admitted to an interview.
