They bring articles both in the main fields of activity of the Institute – linguistics and cultural studies – and in related fields: anthropology, history, literary studies, sociology and others, such as information technology. The quality of articles is assured by eight editorial teams which bring together distinguished scholars in respective disciplines from around the globe. The lists of reviewers associated with each journal also include foreign specialists.
Since 2014, our journals have only been published electronically; they are available in open access on the Institute’s e-journals platform (CC BY 3.0 PL licence). The journals publish original articles which have been subject to a review process and have been assigned unique DOI identifiers. The authors have the right to make their articles available in repositories, on their personal websites, etc. only after the work has been published in one of the journals issued by the Institute (see Editorial policies).
The entire publishing process – from submission, through the review process to publication – is performed using the Institute’ e-journals platform. Most our journals are issued in Slavic and congress languages; Cognitive Studies | Études cognitives and Colloquia Humanistica only appear in English. Adeptus and Studia Litteraria et Historica, in turn, apart from articles in original language versions also publish their English translations.
Five our journals are indexed in the Scopus database (Acta Baltico-Slavica, Cognitive Studies | Études cognitives, Colloquia Humanistica, Slavia Meridionalis, Studia z Filologii Polskiej i Słowiańskiej), and six of them – in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) (Acta Baltico-Slavica, Adeptus, Cognitive Studies | Études cognitives, Colloquia Humanistica, Slavia Meridionalis, Studia z Filologii Polskiej i Słowiańskiej).
All journals published by the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences are listed in a number of databases, including the CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library), CEJSH (Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), ERIH Plus (European Reference Index for the Humanities Plus), ProQuest and WorldCat.
