From the 2019/2020 academic year, the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences begins educating doctoral students at the Anthropos Doctoral School, Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Anthropos School was founded jointly by nine institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences: the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Institute of Literary Research, the Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organisation, the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History, the Ludwik and Aleksander Birkenmajer Institute for the History of Science, the Institute of Polish Language, the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, the Institute of Slavic Studies and the Institute of Art.
The leading unit of the Anthropos Doctoral School is the Institute of History, Polish Academy of sciences, and its office is in Warsaw at 29/31 Rynek Starego Miasta, room 42 (3rd floor).
The Anthropos Doctoral School offers a comprehensive educational programme which combines preparation for independent and team research work with specialist and interdisciplinary seminars. The most important principles of the School’s programme focus on the comprehensive preparation of doctoral students for independent work in the national and international academic environment, including the development of research skills (more).

Admission
The Anthropos Doctoral School, Polish Academy of Sciences invites applications for the 2020/2021 academic year. The School offers study programmes in archaeology, social and economic geography and spatial management, history, linguistics, literary studies, culture and religion studies, and art sciences. The courses will be taught by academic staff members of the following Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences: the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Institute of Literary Research, the Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organisation, the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History, the Ludwik and Aleksander Birkenmajer Institute for the History of Science, the Institute of Polish Language, the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, the Institute of Slavic Studies and the Institute of Art.
Applications to the Anthropos Doctoral School will be evaluated in a two-step procedure. The candidates who successfully pass an evaluation of their application files will be invited for an interview.
