The contemporary language practices of descendants of the native population of Masuria” received funding under the Preludium 19 competition of the National Science Center. Project Investigator – Piotr Szatkowski, prepared the project as a doctoral student of ISS PAS “Borderlands, Minorities, Migrations in a Sociolinguistic Perspective”.

We are happy to announce the publication of a new book by Dr. Ewelina Drzewiecka: Юбилейно и модерно. Кирило-методиевският разказ през социализма в България. The monograph is an attempt to answer various questions, among others: about the relationship between the scientific and the party discourses on the narrative of the oeuvre of Saints Cyril and Methodius, which is crucial for Bulgarian cultural memory; about the (non)religious nature of their modern cult, as well as its role in the perspective of the so-called communist nationalism.

The results of the competition for the position of the scholarship holder in the project “The nation’s body and soul. Volkist motifs in Polish early national-democratic thought (1895–1918)”

We would like to inform that under the Opus project of the National Science Centre “The nation’s body and soul. Volkist motifs in Polish early national-democratic thought (1895–1918)”, no. 2018/31/B/HS3/00915, implemented at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, there was a competition for the position of a scholarship holder. Based on the evaluation of the submitted documents and an interview, the recruitment committee decided to award the NCN scholarship to Michalina Augusiak.

We are happy to inform that the project “Strategies of minority language maintenance and transmission in linguistically mixed Upper Sorbian-German families in Upper Lusatia, Germany” received funding under the Preludium 19 competition of the National Science Center. Project Investigator prepared the project as a doctoral student of ISS PAS “Borderlands, Minorities, Migrations in a Sociolinguistic Perspective”.

PRELUDIUM is a funding opportunity intended for pre-doctoral researchers about to embark on their scientific career. In the Preludium 19 competition, 109 applications were submitted in the “Culture and cultural production” (HS2) panel, 15 were selected for funding.
